MinimOSD question

I know the minimosd is bit out dated with the Betaflight F3 board and all but I just got a new FC and this thing is cheap so I wanted to try it.

My question is does it come flashed ready to fly or will I have to follow all the Audrino steps?  

Also if I have to flash, it seems I won't be able to do that with the Serial passthrough trick on betaflight.  If so I'll need to pick up and FTDI.

Is this right?
